sorted now????

Almost Done

I cannot believe how quickly these little star
blocks have come together.

only two to go, with another week of April
left. I'm not running late this month.

7 more stars finished. Surprising
myself with how well I'm keeping up
with this challenge.

Last weeks total lack of control lead to...

another quilt top waiting to be quilted.
This one I would like to big stitch quilt in a
circle pattern of some sort to pick up the
circles created in the piecing.

I forgot to show my shopping at AQC

Some reproduction  fabrics for a quilt to be started
 much later in the year,
Thread for two hand quilting projects, hopefully
to be completed this winter,
and a wonderful quilt mania book.
Not to much damage to the credit card.

AQC

Another early start
Off to Melbourne for
Australasian Quilt Convention
So many quilts to inspire
So many stalls to tempt
But sometimes you have to slow down and just look around.

And for something completely different,
while waiting for the bus to bring us home,

we were entertained by girls on roller skates
doing the zombie dance to
Michael Jackson's Thriller

Back in the day I could roller skate and dance
but certainly not together.
So much fun the watch.

More Tins

It would seen I am not the only
person to like tins, especially to put your stitching into.
On Saturday at sewing I spied these.

This one belonging to Sharon, great for storing
you embroidery and tapestry wools.

This unusual tin is Noreen's,
love the shape.

So I don't feel so bad about the new
tins that have found their way to my place.

Looks like an old jukebox, so very fitting.

With a picture of a  letter box,
also very fitting.
Both were gifts, so other people know about
my problem.

Does this count ?

I've been very productive
this week, so I can start a new project.
Remember my new rule for myself,
I must finish something before I can
start something else.

One pair of scrappy socks.
I know this does not count because I have
already started another pair.

Kaffe Fassett wool I got last year.

another 7 stars
this also does not count, will not be finished
for a very long time.

the next step of the mystery quilt,
not a finish, I only get one step at a time,
so I have no idea how far a finish is.

The red and white
shoo fly blocks have been ready to put
together for some time.
The closest thing to a finish I have.
White sashing and red corner stones ,
set on point with a big red border.
I then gave it a good  press and pin
basted it ready for some big stitch quilting.
I am calling this a finish.
 For the moment anyway.

Because I couldn't wait any longer.
I had to start cutting.

and sewing a new quilt.
I can't wait for this to take shape.
I'm looving the colours.

2nd Saturday of the month

Saturday was our monthly sewing day
for Corowa Quilters.
A  new venue with plenty of space
and light.
A good day was had by all.

Lots of show and tell
especially just after the quilt show.

another one of Shannah's beautiful blue quilts,
That girl does blue soooo well.

Some of the wednesday ladies have
 been making braid quilts
This one belongs  to Pam

and this one is Lyn's
How different it looks  in different colours.

Sharron bought along some of her quilting.

If only you could see the detail.

This one is the Cobram Quilters raffle
quilt for this year.
Also quilted by Sharron, wouldn't you
love to be the lucky winner.

Autumn

I never liked autumn,
the thought of winter just around the corner.
But this autumn has been wonderful

perfect days, not a cloud in the sky.
nights cool enough to snuggle under a quilt.

trees just starting to change

and still a bit of colour in the garden.
And thoughts of hand quilting in the not to
distant future.

ps... did you notice the top photo?
I now have a sealed road. Yah  much less dust in the house

Not going so well

One of my many new year resolutions
is not to start any new projects
until I finish one or more.
But with no finishes in sight,

I have been dreaming of starting projects from
these,

I've even been playing with fabric/colour
combinations.
So far staying strong.

Continuing on with

my new york beauty blocks
plenty of pinning, not much sewing

and another 7 stars.
Trying not to be tempted and start a new project,
now long can I hold out.

Cotton Tape

I have this great cotton tape in stock,
to be used on growth charts,
sewing notions, knitting bags, and so one.

I think I feel a knitting bag coming.
Just in time for the new scarf yarns that
are arriving.

Great colours with a bit of sparkle
to keep the winter blues away.

A large range of knitting needle
to help these projects along.

trying to decide what to do with this
bundle of beautiful Kaffe liberty,

enjoyed some wonderful weather,
