Block 2

Stitching is moving along well
Block 2 is complete.

a couple of favorite parts

a fussy photo, but you get the idea

Ready to start block 3

I had no Thursday sit and stitch this week.
So I had to go it on my own at home.
I decided it would be a cutting afternoon
I went cutting crazy.

All the blocks are cut for the next frame
of the folly quilt.
24 blocks ready to go
packed into zip lock bags so nothing can be lost
Hopefully.
Even the triangles for the sawtooth border are ready
to stitch. they make a good project
for travelling or in front of the tele.

Block One

Block one of Leanne's House
is done

I have enjoyed the embroidery,
just as well there is lots to
enjoy

and brushing up the needle turn skills,
It been so long I almost forgot how.

This week the folly has progressed

The first of the pieced borders is complete.
the next border has 24  6" blocks
20 pieced and 4 applique.
That will take me a while,
hoping to start cutting them tomorrow
this quilt is my Thursday sit and stitch project.
A LONG term project.

New Year Resolution

I've been putting a lot of thought into this years
resolution. It cannot be the usual things that don't last
very long, like eat more healthy  food, exercise more,
be responsible with money. This we should be doing anyway
and a resolution to do so does not always work.
So this year had to be really worthwhile.
Still nothing.

Well I hope to continue enjoying my slow sewing.
Finish some UFO's without starting too many
new projects.

So far so good.
One quilt top completed.

All hand pieced, I really enjoyed these
hexagon stars, I can see more of these in my future.
Not just red and white but with a bit of black and grey as well.
I have a lovely grey backing that I think will work well,
so that is reducing the stash as well.
All good.

A UFO back out of the cupboard,
can you still call it a UFO if it has been in the
cupboard since 2008?

Leanne's House is out of mothballs
Isn't it amazing the things you find when you move house.
6 years ago I completed
Journey of a Quilted by Leanne Beazley and enjoyed
it so much I decided to do Leanne's House.
All the machine piecing was done and that was that,
into the cupboard for the next 6 years.

This is my progress after two evenings
in front of the cricket.
So far so good, this might be a UFO no longer.
This year some time maybe.

Very fitting for the hot weather we are having at the moment.
